Apple cider vinegar may improve cholesterol levels

A clinical trial being conducted in Minnesota, US, has lead researchers to believe that taking apple cider vinegar improves cholesterol and that those who consume apple cider vinegar for 8 weeks will see improved levels of good or HDL cholesterol.

Apple cider vinegar — a common kitchen remedy for arthritis and gout — has already been shown to lower blood sugar levels and reduce appetite. A separate trail based on animals with diabetes has also indicated that it lowered levels of bad cholesterol and improved good cholesterol. Another study conducted on humans published in the in the Journal of Bioscience, Biotechnology and BioChemistry showed that both body fat and the serum triglyceride levels decreased in the subjects taking 30ml of apple cider vinegar with breakfast compared to those taking just water
